Health Plan Renewal Advisor - Seasonal

POSITION SUMMARY

 

We are seeking detail-oriented, compassionate professionals to join our seasonal team as  Individual & Family Health Plan Advisors. This role is exclusively focused on servicing and renewing existing clients enrolled in individual health insurance plans. You will work directly with our established client base to ensure seamless renewals during the Open Enrollment season. 

 

This is primarily a phone or video-based role but there will be situations where you are meeting in person with clients.  This client-service role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about helping people retain the coverage they depend on. Whether you're experienced in insurance or new to the industry, we welcome candidates who are quick learners, confident communicators, and committed to excellent service.

 

 

 

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

  • Guide existing individual health plan clients through the renewal process during the Health Insurance Marketplace Open Enrollment Period.
  • Review clients’ current coverage and provide personalized plan recommendations based on eligibility, preferences, and changes in benefits or costs.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by explaining plan updates and renewal options with clarity and care.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of renewal documentation.
  • Strong Client Communication
  • Maintain a high level of empathy and professionalism throughout the renewal journey.
  • Follow all Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, ACA, and RetireMed compliance rules, policies, procedures and programs.
  • Keep detailed and timely notes in the CRM to document client interactions and plan decisions.
  • Participate in seasonal team trainings and check-ins.
  • Support team performance goals and collaborate to improve overall client satisfaction.
  • Secure and Maintain required licensure and certifications with company support.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills while reviewing premiums and finding the best plan for the client.
  • Can communicate effectively the process for termination for non-payment of premiums and the related grace periods.
  • Responsible for timely data entry into CRM and enrollment systems.
  • Schedule and conduct phone, video and face-to-face appointments with clients in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Proactively manage and organize sales pipeline by following up within a set timeframe on all assigned clients including voicemails and emails. 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

  • Existing Knowledge or Ability to Learn needed information regarding Individual Health Insurance Plan programs and carrier offerings.
  • Ability to execute on assessing the redetermination process for the IHIP client.
  • Highly skilled record keeper, fully complete and/or update all critical CRM data entry (doctors, prescriptions, target and projected IHIP effective dates) accurately and in a detailed, timely manner to ensure proper pipeline organization, document all conversations and activities in CRM.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to use technology, systems and external websites to perform basic sales operations.
  • Certification and Licensure Accountability, stay current on all training, licensing, certifications, appointments, carrier and product knowledge.
  • Serve as a RetireMed ambassador internally and externally.

 

MINIMUM SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Will need to successfully complete FFM training and certification
  • Strong technology and computer knowledge (MS Office, CRM, the Internet, etc.)
  • Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and team player; embraces change.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and time management skills; able to multi-task.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
  • Submit to and pass appropriate background checks.
