Chemist Assistant Internship
Internship starts in September.
Compensation: $18 per hour

The Chemist assistant internship position assists the Chemist on creating product documents such as SDS, TDS. The intern will also assist drafting and customizing product descriptions. These documents are important to customers and must be accurate. TDS, SDS and product descriptions play a significant role in getting business with customers as they are the first impression of the product to the customer. High accuracy and attention to detail is required.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Create SDS for products in SDS template
- Assist Chemist in creating technical data sheet
- Assist Chemist in drafting and customizing product descriptions
- Assist in formulation of standard reagents and solutions
Qualifications & Expertise:
- Chemistry or relevant major
- Basic understanding of chemical terminologies
- Working knowledge on google sheets, PDFs, and MS office
- Basic working knowledge in laboratory settings
- Ability to take direction well
*Personal protective equipment will be provided and trained on when necessary. Therefore, the intern will need to be physically fit for a respiratory mask.
*Steel toed shoes must be worn when on the warehouse floor or in the laboratory. Lab Alley will reimburse up to $65 for those shoes.
Day in the Life:
Check in with the chemist on the to do list for the day. Most of the project will focus on creating SDS, TDS and product description using a computer and various templates. After a document is ready, check in with the chemist for approval. May participate in formulations of reagents and solutions in laboratory setting.

Schedule & reporting details:
8-5 M-F for a min of 20 hours and maximum of 40 depending on intern availability.
