Interactive Specialist/ Mechanical Engineer
We are seeking a Interactive Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting, setting up, operating, and maintaining various machines to ensure the precise manufacturing of metal parts. The role of this position is to serve as a dedicated specialized resource for projects requiring fabrication of interactive exhibit elements
Responsibilities:
- Manufacture and fabricate finished metal products
- Install and repair various equipment and components
- Follow blueprints to meet product specifications
- Calculate material measurements to verify specifications
- Conduct tests to evaluate weld quality and tolerance
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve machine issues
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Full body mobility. Must be able to lift at least 75 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with welding, manufacturing, or other related fields
- Familiarity with welding tools and procedures
- Familiarity with engineering blueprints and schematics
- Ability to handle physical workload
- Proficiency in using micrometers, tooling, and measuring instruments
- Ability to read and completely understand technical drawings, specifications, narrative descriptions of interactives, materials and products.
- Ability to work with a range of materials including wood and wood products, metals, plastics and other engineered materials.
- Ability to work with precision and attention to detail
- 3D Printing is preferred
Duties:
- Set up machines including press brake machines and logic controllers
- Operate machinery to produce parts within specified tolerances
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure their optimal functionality
- Must be able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned including work in other areas of production as required.
- Assemble machined parts as needed
- Clean parts as required
