Qualifications
Loves spending time on TikTok - 4hrs+ per day
Strong interpersonal skills, with comfort interacting with celebrities and high-profile clients.
Obsessed with music, always searching out new artists, excited to communicate that obsession to others
Ambition to be involved in the music industry; cares deeply about the creative side of music.
Protective of artists, eager to champion them, and committed to help artists go “all the way.”
Deep curiosity about the business, about creativity, about art and music.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Proficient in normal office management software and tools, with a keen eye for detail.
A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
Responsibilities
Research: Consistently identify, contextualize, and communicate potential new artist partnerships, as well as identifying songwriters, producers, videographers, trends, marketing ideas, instrumentalists, et al
Weekly meetings with management to ensure projects are pushed forward, to refine approach and discuss strategy
Picking up the phone: talent outreach as instructed and mentored by management to secure relationships and expand opportunities for the label
Meet with artists at label offices, attend studio sessions, and evaluate talent in person, online, over phone
Clear and consistent communication regarding talents needs and expectations
Job Description
The A&R intern is a position where a candidate will learn the foundations of a career in A&R. A&R is the position at the label which is responsible for identifying, signing, developing, and ultimately ‘breaking’ talent into the wider marketplace. It requires a fluency in both the creative and business sides of the music industry. A position as an A&R intern will introduce students to the breadth of the job, with a particular emphasis on identifying talent and building relationships with creatives. Rebel Music has a strong, well-founded reputation for identifying major successful artists across genre early in their careers.
