Binaytara is a leading global oncology nonprofit, dedicated to reducing cancer health disparities around the world. Our mission is to improve access to cancer care, enhance continuing medical education, and foster implementation science research in hematology and oncology, thereby reducing the global burden of cancer. As the largest cancer conference organizer in the US, we impact thousands of doctors and oncology/hematology practitioners who attend our conferences to stay current on cutting-edge treatments for their patients. As a leader in global oncology, we have partnered with local government and health organizations in Nepal to operate the only cancer hospital in Madhesh Province, deliver cervical cancer screenings, provide nurse training and establish the first bone marrow transplant center in the country. In India, we have partnered with government institutions to establish a palliative care program in Madhya Pradesh. We are building a comprehensive 200-bed cancer center in Janakpur, Nepal that will dramatically improve access to cancer care in Nepal and surrounding communities.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Development and Communications Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collaborating on fundraising campaigns, fundraising event planning, sponsorship support, graphic design of communications materials, coordinating with print vendors, and working alongside our Development Team and Marketing and Communications Team to support our mission. This role requires someone with strong writing and design skills, a passion for engaging audiences, and a commitment to improving health equity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create graphic design content using Canva for donor communications and marketing materials such as emails, flyers, posters, reports, and other printed or digital products.
- Assist with writing copy for emails, web and social media content.
- Coordinate individual giving campaigns through a variety of vehicles to support goals for donor engagement, reactivation, cultivation, and stewardship.
- Support the planning and execution of a variety of fundraising events, including logistics, event strategy, donor communication and gift acknowledgment.
- Support the management of sponsors and communication materials to service and cultivate vendors engaged with our Continuing Medical Education Conferences.
- Maintain accurate records, manage lists, run reports, coordinate meetings and reconcile expenses..
- Serves as liaison with the Continuing Medical Education Team to streamline a holistic experience with Binaytara to monitor communications from each team
- Provide project-level responsibilities for the Development Team that support the donor cultivation process as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must have completed bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Nonprofit Management or a related field within the last 24-months from a US institution.
- Not currently enrolled in any degree-granting program (and not currently planning/scheduled to start a degree-granting program during the internship).
- Agree to commit to a full 12-month program.
- Meet the attendance requirement (95% attendance required for stipend disbursement).
- Complete all assignments/challenges provided in the internship curriculum.
- 1 year of experience volunteering or working in a related role.
Essential Skills:
- Strong understanding of communications.
- Proficiency with digital tools and platforms, including Canva and email marketing platforms.
- Ability to translate complex information into clear and engaging content.
- Strong creative skills.
- Strong analytical skills to assess our performance and adapt to optimize our content for growth and engagement.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
