Business Development Intern

Job Title: Business Development Intern

Employment Type: Internship, W2, Authorized to work in the United States required

Reports to: Acting Director of Business Development and Marketing

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Job Location:  Remote, no travel

Weekly Hours: 20 hours/wk (Cynuria core hours: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm EST)

Compensation: $ 1,874.60 (September 8,  2025 - December 5, 2025)

Benefits: Eligible for 401(k) participation (≥ 21 years of age)

The Opportunity

You will support our Business Development team on a variety of activities as we scale business development initiatives and improve our processes. 
 

Role Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Principal and other team members:

  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitive intelligence to identify new growth opportunities, emerging trends, and strategic partnership avenues within the human capital, learning, and HR tech landscape across commercial, nonprofit, and federal sectors.
  • Design and implement targeted business development initiatives, including identifying key decision-makers (CHROs, CLOs, HR Tech leaders) and advising on tailored outreach strategies to expand Cynuria's client base along with its new tech startup venture.
  • Contribute to the strategic refinement of Cynuria's overall value proposition, go-to-market strategies, and thought leadership positioning to enhance market resonance and differentiation.
  • Analyze client needs and market gaps to inform the development of new service offerings and solutions, particularly those integrating advanced technologies.
  • Help the business development team draft proposals
  • Store opportunity-related files as directed in the shared drive structure
  • Maintain updates to customer relationship management tool
  • Participate in internal staff meetings
  • Daily use of Google workspace and the G-drive

Project Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Zoho CRM management: Support the team in managing contacts, tracking leads, and updating client information in Zoho to ensure organized and accurate data, including managing workflow automations that leverage different AI models for enhanced efficiency.
  • Researching Sources Sought notices: Identify and compile sources sought opportunities that align with Cynuria's service offerings.
  • Quals refresh: Work on updating and maintaining qualifications documents, aligning them with the latest brand standards and Cynuria’s current capabilities.
  • Copywriting support: Assist with writing and refining proposal content, client communications, and other BD-related materials, ensuring consistency and alignment with Cynuria’s voice and tone.
  • Blog & resource development: Collaborate with the Marketing intern to research, draft, and publish informative blog posts and resources for the website.

You add the following required skills and experience to our team:

  • Rising Sophomore, Junior or Senior
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems through quantitative and quantitative analysis
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Demonstrated research skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Adaptable to shifting priorities
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with the Google suite of tools and working with AI tools to automate BD processes.
     

Work Environment and Physical Demands of the Job: Working remotely, all work is computer-based, including frequent video meetings. Core working hours on Eastern Standard Time.
