Disciples Church Students Coordinator

We are hiring a part-time Disciples Students Coordinator to come alongside our incredible team of volunteers as they encourage students and their families to follow Jesus. The purpose of this position is to cultivate the discipleship of middle and high school students at Disciples Church through relationships and the facilitation of events, groups, and/or programs.

Responsibilities:

-Develop and nurture relationships with students and families centered around discipleship to Jesus 

- Prioritize your own discipleship to Jesus through regular practice of the spiritual disciplines, including Sabbath 

- Facilitate Disciples Students events, groups, and programs by taking responsibility for teaching, planning, and all necessary preparation 

- Team-Building: Recruit, train, develop, and schedule volunteers to serve in Disciples Students 

- Advocate for the families, parents, and students of Disciples Church by casting a vision for family discipleship and equipping them to face the challenges of following Jesus today. 

- Provide administrative support for Disciples Kids 

- Be a team player, ready and willing to step into various tasks and responsibilities related to the flourishing of the church as needed

Qualifications:

-Candidate must meets Membership Qualifications for Disciples Church and must pass employer-sponsored FBI/BCI Background Check.  

-Candidate must possess the ability to articulate and teach the gospel, familiarity with the Scriptures, and a basic understanding of Christian doctrine.

-Volunteer or vocational student ministry experience preferred. 

-High School Diploma required, Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred.

Required Skills: 

-Proficient with Google Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Drive). 

-Good written and verbal communication skills.

-Proven organizational and time management skills 

- Self-starter, able to take initiative and manage own schedule 

- Must regularly lift or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds, using proper lifting techniques or with help from another staff member.
