Schedule: Before & after school: 7:00am - 10:30am & 3:00 - 6:00pm = 6 hours in total

We are a culturally grounded, Spanish immersion before, after-school and summer program serving K–5 students in Minneapolis near Lake Nokomis and South Side Minneapolis. Our nonprofit fosters a safe, creative, enriching and inclusive space where children thrive through language learning, cultural exploration, and academic growth. Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive, organized, and bilingual Program Coordinator to lead our before and after school programming. The ideal candidate brings a growth mindset, is eager to collaborate with a diverse team, and can build strong relationships with staff, families, and school partners.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Program Delivery
- Monitor student behavior on site during program hours and utilize appropriate disciplinary measures as necessary
- Supervise and support a team of 4 staff members (2 before school, 2 after school)
- Facilitate weekly team collaboration to plan culturally relevant, mission-aligned programming. Conduct regular staff meetings with staff about progress, goals and improvements.
- Foster a positive team culture rooted in respect, equity, and shared learning
- Ensure daily operations run smoothly and safely, build welcoming and caring environment that aligns with our organization’s values.
Family & School Communication
- Greet families during drop-off and pick-up, building strong, trusting relationships. Communicate with families via email, phone, and in-person updates on upcoming programs, events, and incidents.
- Represent our program to Windom teachers, school staff and partners—sharing updates and promoting collaboration.
- Check email daily to ensure that program updates and communications are reviewed and responded to in a timely manner
- Respond to inquiries from parents and students regarding program offerings, attendance, and registration procedures
Program Administration
- Maintain up-to-date student rosters and registration forms
- Input and manage family, student and emergency information
- Assist with logistical tasks like attendance tracking, document copying, and organizing materials
Marketing & Outreach Support
- Help create flyers and announcements using templates given
- Share program highlights and events with school partners and the community, print flyers and send them to partners.
- Support brainstorming and execution of fundraising ideas and community events
Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (required)
- Some college coursework is required - coursework in education, social or human services, child development, or related field is desirable
- One or more years' experience working in a leadership or supervisory capacity in an after school, day camp or community youth outreach setting is preferred
- Experience working with children in educational or enrichment settings
- Demonstrated commitment to or experience with diverse communities
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Confident leading teams and supporting others in a collaborative environment
- Comfortable using technology for email, spreadsheets, and simple design platforms (e.g., Canva or Google Drive, sheets, word, gmail)
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and creative problem-solving mindset
- Familiarity with fundraising or nonprofit work is a plus, but not required
- Availability to work occasionally on evenings or weekends for field trips and special events
- Able to delegate tasks and give feedback to team. Able to receive feedback and grow as a leader.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly or salaried depending on experience ($17 - $19 an hour)

Since we work with school age children, a clean background is a must. You must have a reliable mode of transportation. The position is located in Windom Community School and will be 3 hours in the morning from 7:00-10:00 AM and 3 hours in the afternoon from 3:00-6:00 PM, Monday-Friday. Must be available to work these hours. Expect to work around 30-35 hours per week.
