Electrical Project Engineer

Job Summary

The Electrical Project Engineer is responsible for assisting with the planning, execution, and completion of electrical projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role involves coordinating teams, managing resources, liaising with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The position requires a foundational technical knowledge in electrical systems and excellent organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource requirements.

Create and manage project schedules using tools like MS Project or Primavera.

Identify critical path activities and allocate resources to meet deadlines.

Collaborate with vendors, subcontractors and engineers to provide quality on time submittal product data and shop drawings.

Assist the project team with establishing the project budget and monthly cost to complete projections.

Prepare project budgets, purchase orders, subcontract agreements, change orders, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.

Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.

Review and approve invoices, change orders, and subcontractor payments.

Assist with estimating task as needed.

Assist with identifying and qualifying subcontractors and vendors.

Assign tasks and ensure clear communication of project goals and expectations.

Attend regular team meetings to review progress, address issues, and align efforts.

Resolve conflicts and ensure a productive work environment.

Establish and maintain positive and effective communication and relationships with client, project team, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, etc.

Provide updates on project status, risks, and deliverables through reports and meetings.

Address client concerns and ensure satisfaction with project outcomes.

Negotiate scope changes and manage expectations effectively.

Conduct site inspections to verify quality and adherence to safety protocols.

Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory approvals.

Identify potential risks (e.g., delays, safety hazards, supply chain issues) and develop mitigation strategies.

Troubleshoot technical and logistical challenges during project execution.

Assist in contingency plans to keep projects on track.

Maintain accurate project records, including contracts, permits, and progress reports.

Ensure timely submission of all required documentation to management and clients.
