Digital Preservation Internship
The Utah State Archives and Records Service is offering four internship opportunities for the 2025 fall semester. These competitive internships will require an application and interview. Internships require 120 hours of work with exact schedules and number of hours being determined individually. Course credit can be provided if approved by interns’ institutions. A stipend of $1,000 will be provided at the end of the semester.
Digital Preservation Internship: Join our Digital Initiatives team and gain hands-on experience in digitization and digital preservation! This in-person internship offers the opportunity to work with historical records by helping capture and process Utah birth and death certificates for online access. You’ll learn the fundamentals of archival imaging, metadata creation, and digital preservation while contributing to an essential public resource. In addition to hands-on digitization work, interns will receive mentorship in best practices for handling fragile records, quality control, and long-term digital stewardship.
