Design Intern
Break Something is looking for creative and motivated Design Interns to join our fast-paced progressive political agency. This is a paid opportunity designed for 3rd or 4th year undergraduate design students seeking real-world experience in political advertising and digital media. If you’re passionate about design, excited by social impact, and interested in shaping political narratives—this could be the perfect fit.
As a Design Intern, you’ll collaborate with our Art Director and client-facing strategists to create digital assets for political campaigns, progressive organizations, and advocacy groups. You’ll work on real client projects that may include graphics for social media, digital ads, reports, email, and basic motion graphics. (No worries if you’re new to motion—we’re happy to train you!)
What You’ll Do:
- Design eye-catching and effective digital content using existing brand assets, stock media, and occasionally scrappy source material like cell phone video or screenshots.
- Use Break Something’s internal workflows and design review systems to manage multiple projects.
- Receive coaching and feedback from team members while developing your skills in real-time.
- Work alongside a team of passionate strategists to produce content that drives progressive change.
What We’re Looking For:
- Current student pursuing a BA/BFA in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field (3rd or 4th year strongly preferred).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); Canva knowledge a plus.
- A strong design eye, curiosity, and willingness to learn quickly.
- Ability to manage time and juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
- Bonus if you have exposure to: Slack, Asana, CapCut, or After Effects.
