First United Methodist Church is a vibrant and welcoming congregation located in Springdale, Arkansas, with a deep commitment to helping people of all ages grow in their faith. Our youth ministry, First Youth, serves students in grades 6 to 12 through weekly gatherings, special events, worship, service, and intentional relationships.
Position Summary
First United Methodist Church is seeking committed and teachable college students to serve as First Youth Interns. These roles support the discipleship and spiritual formation of youth through weekly programs, special events, and mentorship. Interns are expected to model strong character, serve with humility, and grow as leaders and followers of Christ.

Supervision
Reports to the Director of Family Ministries. Accountable to the Senior Pastor and the Pastor/Parish Relations Committee.
Qualifications
- Active member of a Christian congregation
- Desire to grow personally and spiritually while investing in the lives of students (ages 12 to 18)
Primary Responsibilities
- Help plan and lead weekly and annual First Youth activities
- Participate in regular mentor meetings for reflection and growth
- Engage in conversations about the direction and development of First Youth
- Follow through on assigned tasks with reliability and professionalism
Additional Focus Areas
Interns may focus on one or more of the following areas, depending on interest and gifting:
- Social Media: Assist with planning, creating, and scheduling content
- Promotion and Outreach: Design graphics, flyers, and capture event photos and videos
- Creative: Support programming, games, and visual elements
- Worship and AV: Help run audio, lighting, and visuals for worship gatherings (training provided)
- Missions: Participate in planning and leading local mission opportunities and trips

- Follow the Safe Gatherings Policy and Personnel Policies Manual of FUMC
- Be willing to take on additional duties as assigned
