EXTENDED DAY SUPPORT STAFF - TODDLERS (PART-TIME)

THE POSITION
Hawken School is seeking a professional, thoughtful, and caring individual for a part-time position working with toddlers (18 months–3 years). This extended day support role requires up to 15 hours per week (3 hours per weekday), for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about working in an after-school environment with our youngest students.
THE ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide respectful and responsive care for students’ needs including diapering, serving snacks, nurturing, and supervising play
- Support a healthy, engaging community of students and adults
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and practice diligent supervision of children
- Maintain accurate records of children checking in and signing out
- Engage with parents and guardians picking up their children
QUALIFICATIONS
A degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education, or a field related to child development, is preferred but not required.
- A joyful enthusiasm for toddler learners
- Demonstrated competence with young children
- An understanding of the developmental needs of children ages 18 months–3 years
- Flexibility, energy, creativity, and a sense of humor
- Eagerness to bring new ideas to enhance the program
