Operations Internship

Internship Summary:
 

Sporting Jax Soccer Club is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic Operations Intern to support the execution of game day logistics and internal event operations. This internship offers hands-on experience in professional sports operations, with the opportunity to contribute to planning, setup, coordination, and execution of all match day elements and special events. This role is ideal for someone pursuing a career in sports management, event logistics, or facility operations.

Key Responsibilities:
 

Assist with the planning and setup of match day operations at UNF Hodges Stadium.

Coordinate with vendors, security, stadium staff, and internal departments to ensure operational excellence.

Support the logistics of equipment movement, signage placement, credential distribution, and stadium flow.

Help facilitate pre-match and post-match operational checklists and debriefs.

Assist in the execution of special events, fan engagement activations, and community programs.

Provide administrative support, including scheduling, document preparation, and inventory tracking.

Participate in weekly operations meetings and contribute to strategy sessions.

Qualifications:
 

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Sports Management, Event Operations, Business, or a related field.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and match days as scheduled.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Passion for soccer and professional sports is a plus.

Physical Requirements

 

• Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods during training and matchdays
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Able to load and unload equipment from storage spaces, vehicles, and field setups
  
   

Internship Details

 

• Hours: Up to 20 hours per week, variable based on match and training schedule

Learning Outcomes

• Strengthen time management, inventory control, and communication skills
