Communications Specialist

Minnesota Home Care Association (MHCA) is a non-profit trade association representing home care agencies from across the state. MHCA serves home care providers through advocacy, education, resources, and collaborations. This is an excellent opportunity to experience a variety of tasks in a non-profit healthcare organization, while working with a small collaborative team.

Position Description

We are seeking a part-time, temporary Communications Specialist to join our team! Students seeking internship opportunities are encouraged to apply! This position will coordinate association communications and work collaboratively with a small team.  There will be flexibility, depending on the candidate.

 

This is an excellent opportunity to experience a variety of tasks in a non-profit healthcare organization, while working with a collaborative team. Preference will be given to individuals who are available as soon as possible.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Managing publication of a semimonthly e-newsletter, writing and proofing content, and assisting with the HTML coding.
  • Draft content of various messaging, including advocacy alerts, events, and membership renewal.
  • Assist with event logistics for an October event in Central Minnesota.

Qualifications:

  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team-oriented
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Familiarity with electronic newsletter coding would be valuable

Location: Minneapolis/remote

Wage: $16-20/hour commensurate with experience
