The Events and Engagement Officer is a key member of the Oklahoma Department of Libraries' Public Information Office, working to strengthen public engagement and raise the visibility of the agency’s programs and services. This includes coordinating the agency’s participation in public events such as conferences, media campaigns, and statewide initiatives that increase visibility for library and archival programs and services. The Officer also works closely with the Friends of the Oklahoma Center for the Book, a volunteer-led nonprofit that supports the Center through fundraising, advocacy, and strategic input.
