Outreach Coordinator

Civitas seeks an energetic and resourceful individual to rekindle its outreach to schools and districts in the St. Louis metropolitan area with significant numbers of African American students. The position is funded through a grant from the Dana Brown Foundation. The position can begin as an internship and evolve into a full-time role.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • To research and identify schools and districts that may benefit from participation in Civitas programs.
  • To initiate contact and build relationships with school administrators and educators during the 2025–26 school year.
  • To establish working partnerships with individuals in up to ten new schools.
  • To represent Civitas at school visits, meetings, and educational events.
  • To potentially serve as an outreach teacher or program facilitator within newly connected schools.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

 

  • Ability to work in both formal and informal settings.
  • Be committed to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Experience working with secondary school-aged students.
  • Ability to work independently and manage outreach efforts with both persistence and patience.
  • Passion for student empowerment and global awareness through programs like Model United Nations.
