Position Opening: Athletic Director / Dean of Students

Position Overview:
This dual-role leadership position serves as a key member of the district’s Administrative Team. The successful candidate will provide visionary and collaborative leadership for our athletic programs while also supporting student growth and development through proactive behavior and attendance management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the district’s athletic program with short- and long-term planning aligned to the mission and values of Hillsdale Community Schools.
• Serve as the primary liaison to athletic conferences, leagues, and MHSAA.
• Coordinate all athletic scheduling, including games, officials, facilities, and transportation.
• Oversee budgeting, purchasing, and financial planning for athletic programs in alignment with district policies.
• Build and sustain strong, collaborative relationships with coaches, students, staff, and the community.
• Foster a culture of sportsmanship, respect, and student development through athletics.
• Support student discipline and attendance efforts, promoting a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
• Communicate clearly and consistently with all stakeholders, including families and community partners.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
   

Qualifications:

• Prior coaching experience is required; school leadership or athletic administration experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and support diverse student populations.
• Knowledge of MHSAA regulations, league coordination, and school operations.
• Ability to manage complex schedules, budgets, and competing priorities.
• Experience working with student discipline and behavior support is highly desirable.
  
   

Salary range: $74,588 - $89,125
