The City of Salisbury’s Economic and Downtown Development Department is seeking a current college, university, or technical institute student with interest in local government, event planning, and marketing. 

 

This internship will provide students or aspiring professionals the opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in planning, marketing and execution of key downtown events, including College Night Out, Festival De Independencia Latinoamericana, Buskers’ Bash, Bell Tower Brew Fest, Halloween Fun Fest, Small Business Saturday and Holiday Night Out. Interns will apply classroom learning to real-world projects while developing valuable skills in: Communication, Organization, Customer Service, Teamwork, Time management, Creativity, Flexibility, Event planning and Marketing.  This experience will help build a strong foundation for future employment in event management, marketing, or related fields by providing marketable skills and professional development.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Coursework relating to business, special event planning, marketing, or related fields
  • Comfort using Microsoft Teams and Office Suite
  • Interpersonal communication skills
  • Comfortable Presenting at all levels
  • Must have a valid NC Driver’s License 

 

Salary: $15.00 per hour

Hours: Varies
