Job Summary:

Support staff interact with students daily while providing maintenance, transportation, security, clerical, food and other services as assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Relieves teachers to attend various meetings and or lavatory use

· Provides classroom coverage when necessary

· Handles, stores, and distributes textbooks, instructional supplies and special materials

· Maintains school inventory of textbooks, supplies and special materials

· Maintains student’s biographical and demographic information updated into PowerSchool system.

· Assist teachers and staff with: photocopies, restocking supplies, organizing classroom materials, bulletin boards, and filing.

· Collects attendance sheets, parent notes, late passes (also checks in with security and replenish late passes weekly).

· Enters attendance in PowerSchool if necessary.

· Follows up with parents in regard to the student absences, lateness.

· Reports to Admin and teachers reasoning behind absences and lateness.

· Answers phone calls, takes messages and emails messages to appropriate personal.

· Assists in maintaining order in the lunchroom/recess and facilitates lunch service

· Handles the arrival and departure of children transported to school by bus

· Follow up and report incidents which occur on the AM or PM bus routes, inform administration and follow up with parents.

· Contact and log in complaints with DOT regarding services provided.

· Book and if necessary, cancel buses for trips and inform teachers and administration about the status of the buses.

· Log scheduled trips into school dashboard.

· Additional duties as requested by admin or Principals

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

At least two years related experience required.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Bronx, NY 10465: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
