Growth Specialist

🧠 About Atlas

Atlas is a new kind of game—built to defend and advance human intelligence in an era dominated by AI. Our mission is to help people sharpen critical skills like adaptability, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking through play. The world doesn’t need more time-wasting games—it needs experiences that make people smarter, stronger, and more connected.

At the heart of Atlas is a competitive, team-based experience where players face abstract challenges in limited time windows. These challenges live inside The Arena, a daily set of levels within the broader game. Designed to be engaging but non-addictive, Atlas strengthens the most human skills in ways that feel cinematic, social, challenging, and meaningful.

📣 The Role: Growth Specialist / Community Engagement

We’re hiring a Growth Specialist focused on student outreach, grassroots expansion, and community engagement. Your mission is to help build a student-led movement behind Atlas—starting with Math, CS, and AI organizations on college campuses.

You’ll be responsible for identifying and reaching out to relevant student groups, building relationships with club leaders, supporting our growing network of 50+ Campus Growth Strategists, and managing our player community in Discord. You’ll be at the center of the early Atlas ecosystem—fostering connection, curiosity, and participation.

This role is for someone who’s deeply organized, people-savvy, and thrives in the overlap between growth and community. You’ll blend relationship-building with fast, creative execution to help us scale a values-aligned movement around the game.

🧩 Who You Are

🤝 A Natural Connector

You’re energized by building relationships. You know how to reach out cold, open doors, and keep people engaged and excited.

🎯 Growth-Minded and Tactical

You know how to test strategies, track results, and move quickly. You’re not afraid to experiment with growth hacks, community loops, or outreach automation.

🎓 Comfortable in College Culture

You understand how student orgs operate—and how to partner with them meaningfully. You speak the language and know how to build trust.

đź’¬ Discord-Native

You know how to foster an engaging, positive community in real-time environments. You’re responsive, thoughtful, and unafraid to step in when needed.

📦 Flexible and Scrappy

You’re excited to wear many hats, support marketing tasks when needed, and figure things out as you go.

✅ What You’ll Do

  • Build and manage targeted outreach lists of student orgs in Math, CS, AI, and related fields
  • Reach out to and build relationships with student leaders to introduce Atlas and coordinate competitions
  • Support and coordinate a distributed team of 50+ Campus Growth Strategists to help build a player coalition
  • Manage and grow our player Discord community, keeping it active, welcoming, and aligned with our brand
  • Support growth experiments and marketing campaigns, from influencer outreach to social content amplification
  • Assist with ad hoc marketing tasks, including events, creative campaigns, or IRL activations as needed

🌍 Why Join Atlas?

Atlas is built for people who believe that the next generation of talent deserves better games—and better communities. You’ll be part of a small team launching a bold, skill-building, cinematic gaming experience. If you’re excited by fast execution, social systems, and helping new ideas spread—this is the role for you.

🧪 Internship-to-hire: July–September

This is a 3-month, project-based internship running from July through September. It’s designed for individuals who want hands-on experience contributing to a fast-moving startup, while exploring whether Atlas could be a longer-term fit.

  • This is an unpaid internship, but we’ll offer a $500/month project stipend to recognize your time and contributions
  • You’ll work directly on real projects with team members and be given clear creative ownership
  • You’ll build real-world experience, add meaningful work to your portfolio, and get the chance to contribute to a project that’s focused on sharpening human intelligence and making a positive impact.
  • You’ll receive mentorship, feedback, and—if requested—a personalized letter of recommendation
  • While we hope to find someone who could grow with us, there is no guarantee or expectation of future employment

This is ideal for someone early in their career or exploring their next step—someone who wants to build real experience while helping shape something meaningful from the ground up.
