Legal Inter - Case Management & Court Support
We are seeking a motivated and detailed-oriented Part-time legal intern to join our law office. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain real-world legal experience in both administrative processes and courtroom procedures. The intern will primarily assist with organizing, reviewing, and closing out old cases files-both in physical form and digital systems. In addition, the intern will have the unique opportunity to accompany attorneys to court proceedings, client meetings, and legal hearings for hands-on observation and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Organize and close out archived legal case files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Review physical case files for completeness, flagging any missing documentation.
Digitize physical documents and upload them to the firm's electronic file system (e.g., Clio, and internal software)
Label, sort, and store files in accordance, with firm and legal retention policies.
Take professional notes during proceedings with requested.
Maintain strict client confidentiality and uphold all ethical standards.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of pre-law, legal studies, criminal justice, or paralegal program.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic file management systems.
Professional demeanor and willingness to learn from a legal professional.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
