Operations Internship

Operations Internships:

Overview: WFPG is looking for specialized interns to focus on internal operations and organizational efficiency. The Operations intern works closely with the Program Associate, Executive Director, and Board of Directors on WFPG's brand expansion and improvement strategy, and collaborates with Communication and Programs interns on programming, event research, and media outreach. While previous operations and web experience is helpful, we also welcome applicants with an interest in developing these skills through their internship.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and track analytics to optimize membership growth, engagement, and brand expansion.
  • Assist with basic financial tracking and bookkeeping, and prepare internal documentation and briefs for Board meetings.
  • Coordinate with Program Associate, Executive Director, and Board members to expand Corporate, Academic, and Leadership councils.
  • Support the WFPG team with additional projects and initiatives as assigned, including our annual fundraiser and Celebration of Women Diplomats.
  • Make updates to the website as needed, including routine updates, bettering user experience, etc.
  • Work closely with Communication and Programs interns on event preparation and provide day-of support at events.
  • Write articles and event summaries for the WFPG website.
  • Attend and represent WFPG at external events.

Interns have the opportunity to:

  • Network with mid- and senior-level professionals from across the international affairs field
  • Develop and hone professional writing, communication, and design skills
  • Learn more about a wide range of international issues and the operations of a small non-profit
  • Participate in career development, Young Professional Network roundtables, and mentoring initiatives
  • Attend and cover external events at the State Department, think tanks, and embassies

Part-time interns who commit to 3 months (12 weeks) during the school year or summer are eligible for a $1000 stipend. Full-time interns who commit to 3 months (12 weeks) during the school year or summer are eligible for a $2000 stipend.
