Position Overview
The Custom Closet Installer is responsible for the accurate, efficient, and professional installation of custom storage solutions in residential and commercial settings. Installers serve as the face of our company in the field and are expected to maintain high standards of craftsmanship, professionalism, and customer service.
Core Job Responsibilities
Daily Tasks:
- Check job materials and load tools/products into company vehicle.
- Transport materials to client homes and communicate with clients upon arrival.
- Perform tear-outs of existing closet structures where required.
- Carry-up and install Closet Factory products using established installation practices.
- Ensure completed installation meets client satisfaction and company standards.
- Provide post-installation service calls as needed.
Schedule Expectations:
- Full-time: Monday–Friday, with Saturdays expected on an as needed basis, 7:30 AM until completion of assigned job.
Performance Expectations
- Arrives on time and works full assigned hours.
- Installs closets with minimal errors and consistent attention to quality.
- Follows all safety guidelines and maintains a clean work environment.
- Communicates effectively with clients and team members.
- Accurately reads drawings and interprets shop lists.
- Demonstrates good problem-solving skills and accountability.
- Anticipates issues before they arise and adapts quickly on site.
- Completes installs with efficiency and minimal direction.
- Proactively maintains tools, vehicles, and job readiness.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience installing closets or similar custom cabinetry.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools: Drill, skill saw, jigsaw, table saw.
- Physically capable of:
- Lifting 50–60 lbs regularly.
- Carrying cabinets upstairs and into homes.
- (Experience with melamine particle board is a strong plus.)
Additional Requirements
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license.
- Must be able to read and interpret shop drawings, measurements and cut lists.
- Must maintain a clean, professional appearance.
- Strong verbal communication and phone skills.
- Must be detail-oriented, self-starting, and capable of solving problems independently or as part of a team.
