Woodworker Intern

We are looking for a woodworker to join our shop! We are a small furniture and cabinetry company that uses locally sourced, sustainable lumber for our builds. We prioritize quality over quantity, sustainability over profitability, and life over work balance. I am looking for someone who can help me work in the wood shop so I can add some time for administrative work, such as design, marketing, sales, etc.

Primary responsibilities: Use tools and machinery to shape rough wood into furniture and cabinetry. Maintain a clean working environment. Assist in shop maintenance, provide ideas, follow safety procedures. Additional responsibilities and duties may apply.

Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret build plans - can be taught to the right candidate
- Estimate costs for woodworking projects - learn over time
- Install and assemble wood components according to project plans
- Fabricate custom wood pieces based on client requests
- Build and construct wooden furniture, cabinets, and other wood products

-Maintain clean workspace and area

-Follow instructions

-Use woodworking equipment to manufacture custom wooden furniture - includes milling lumber, sanding, picking up lumber, measuring, gluing, tidying shop, and other duties.

-Comfortable using power tools.

-Computer skills - Sketchup a plus and basic excel skills

• Skills:

- Proficient in math and reading measurements

- Experience with woodworking and tools- Ability to fabricate custom wood pieces to specifications

- Excellent woodworking skills to build and construct wooden products OR

desire to learn woodworking skills

-Ability to troubleshoot problems

-Willingness to learn and ask questions

-Adaptive

-Attention to detail

Flexible schedule after training period. Will need transportation to and from the workshop in North Riverfront neighborhood. Shop hours are M-F, 6 AM - 3 PM.
