SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Communications & Marketing Coordinator serves under the direction of the Chief of Staff to support the development and execution of comprehensive internal and external communications strategies for Saginaw Intermediate School District (ISD).
The position is responsible for elevating the district’s brand and visibility through creative storytelling, strategic marketing, and data-driven decision making. The Communications & Marketing Coordinator will collaborate across departments and programs to create and implement engaging content, lead video production efforts, leverage AI tools, and provide professional communications support aligned with the district’s mission to Serve. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Our Story™ Initiative:
- Lead and moderate the Our Story™ initiative with Saginaw ISD staff and students, fostering participation and building a positive storytelling culture district-wide.
- Lead and moderate the Our Story™ initiative specifically with Saginaw Career Complex (SCC) students and staff, supporting program visibility and community engagement.

Storytelling, Branding, and Content Creation:
- Develop and distribute marketing materials that celebrate staff, students, programs, and community across Saginaw ISD.
- Write and produce engaging content for digital and print platforms, including scripts, speeches, newsletters, and campaigns.
- Design professional graphics for digital and print materials using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
- Utilize AI tools to enhance communication workflows, content generation, and creative storytelling.

Video Production & Editing:
- Serve as the district’s primary video production resource.
- Plan, film, edit, and produce high-quality video content for social media, marketing campaigns, and district initiatives.

CTE Marketing & Millage Support:
- Assist in the development and execution of marketing and storytelling campaigns that promote Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs across Saginaw County.
- Support public awareness efforts for the CTE millage.
- Develop and distribute marketing materials to promote the Saginaw Career Complex (SCC) and the 9 non-SCC CTE programs in collaboration with CTE leadership.

Social Media & Website Management:
- Manage and schedule social media content across district platforms.
- Monitor engagement and community interaction to optimize strategies.
- Assist with updating and maintaining Saginaw ISD’s and SCC websites with engaging and current content.

Data Collection & Strategic Reporting:
- Collect and analyze data on campaign performance, video engagement, and social media metrics.
- Provide regular reporting to leadership to inform strategic decisions.

Professional Development & Training:
- Support the Saginaw County School Communicators Network.
- Provide training to staff and students on communication best practices and storytelling tools.

Event & Recognition Support:
- Support special events and initiatives, such as the Orange Spot Recognition program and staff swag store operations.

Trend Monitoring:
- Stay current on trends in communications, marketing, video production, and AI-driven content creation.
- Bring forward innovative practices to continuously enhance district communications.

Other Duties:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, digital media, journalism, or a related field required.
- Demonstrated experience in creative video storytelling, video production, and editing.
- Proficiency in graphic design and visual storytelling.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and content strategies.
- Experience utilizing AI tools to enhance content creation and workflow.
- Ability to analyze data to drive strategy and reporting.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Strong commitment to the mission of Saginaw ISD and its service to students and the community.
