Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 Annually

 

As an Annual Giving Specialist at the Worcester Art Museum, you will serve a key role in developing and expanding our membership and donor base. This position is ideal for a goal-oriented person who excels at connecting people, developing relationships, and collaborating with colleagues while supporting the Museum’s mission to connect people, communities, and cultures through the experience of art.

Job Overview

The Annual Giving Specialist will contribute to the development and expansion of unrestricted individual and corporate giving as a member of the Annual Giving Team. Working with the team members, the Annual Giving Officer is responsible for a combined portfolio of both corporate and individual donors meeting both financial and participation goals. They will work with colleagues to develop strategies to identify, cultivate and increase giving among prospective Members and donors and deepen Member and donor engagement coordinated across programs.


Duties/Responsibilities

Annual Giving

  • Manage a portfolio of current donors and prospects with the goal of building relationships to acquire new donors and increase giving of mid-level individual and corporate donors.
  • Work with corporate executives and/or the appropriate designee to build engagement and giving to the Museum in coordination with other Museum giving programs.
  • Ensure the fulfillment of Business Partner membership benefits and renewal process within the Business Partner budget.
  • Engage prospective donors and existing donors with potential for upgrade through cold calls and emails. Connect with prospective Members and donors at on-site and targeted events.
  • Identify donors, both corporate and individual, who have capacity for higher level giving. Work collaboratively with colleagues to move donors to progressively increased giving.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records of prospect and donor contact information and interactions.
  • Plan, develop and implement campaigns with marketing team to create compelling content. Track campaign results and identify donors with potential for further engagement.
  • Serve as staff liaison for the Business Partners Committee, working closely with the Committee Chair to develop annual goals and objectives, committee meetings, and events, when appropriate.

  • Highly motivated and goal oriented
  • Proven fundraising and/or sales experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; strong phone presence
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the organization
  • Experience working with Altru or similar CRM
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed

Education and Experience

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent
