Political Fundraising Intern

Location: Hybrid (Philadelphia-based preferred)

Type: Part-Time Internship (15–20 hours/week)

Firm 1968 is a public affairs and political consulting firm specializing in fundraising strategy, advocacy campaigns, government relations, and community engagement. We work with political candidates, elected officials, and mission-driven organizations to build power and drive impact.

 

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and politically savvy intern to support our political fundraising team. This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates with a passion for politics, public policy, campaign strategy, or nonprofit fundraising. You’ll gain hands-on experience with the inner workings of campaign finance and donor development while supporting real-time fundraising activities.

 

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Assist with donor research to create and update targeted call sheets using public databases and internal tools
  • Support call time preparation and follow-up processes, including drafting call scripts and donor notes
  • Conduct research on policy issues and current events to help align fundraising messaging with candidate or issue priorities
  • Help staff fundraising events, including RSVPs, guest lists, on-site logistics, and post-event follow-up
  • Provide administrative support for scheduling, inbox management, and donor database upkeep
  • Assist with creation of fundraising decks, proposals, and reports for clients and internal planning
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions around digital fundraising, email copy, and campaign strategy


 

Qualifications:


 

  • Strong interest in politics, government affairs, or public policy
  • Excellent research, writing, and organizational skills
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple tasks
  • Professional communication and discretion with sensitive donor data
  • Previous experience with campaigns, nonprofits, or policy work preferred
  • Familiarity with NGP VAN, ActBlue, or political databases a plus (training available)
