Fall Social Media Intern

About Us

ALP Careers is reshaping how students gain experience. We’re a startup platform connecting emerging talent to paid, short-term micro-internships posted by real businesses. Our mission is to make experience accessible — one project at a time.

We believe real work beats hypotheticals. ALP gives students the opportunity to build their portfolios and confidence, while businesses benefit from fresh insight. We’re early-stage, ambitious, and building fast — and we’re looking for student interns who are just as driven.

About the Role

We’re seeking a Fall Social Media Intern to help shape how ALP shows up online. You’ll be responsible for crafting and scheduling content, engaging with our community, and experimenting with ways to grow our presence across platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok. You’ll be telling our story, spotlighting student talent, and helping us build a strong, authentic brand voice.

This role is perfect for someone who loves writing, keeps an eye on trends, and has a sense for what content actually performs. You don’t need to be a social media “influencer,” but you should understand what makes a post scroll-stopping — and be excited to try things, learn fast, and help a real startup grow its digital reach.

The internship is flexible, remote, and built to fit a student schedule (max ~10 hours/week). You’ll work directly with our core team and get to own content creation from concept to execution.

What You’ll Do

  • Draft, edit, and schedule social media content (LinkedIn, Instagram, and possibly TikTok)
  • Write captions, hooks, and copy that reflect ALP’s voice — smart, energetic, human
  • Create simple visuals (we use Canva, and we can show you how)
  • Monitor engagement and analyze what’s working — then test new formats and ideas
  • Curate student stories, success highlights, and platform updates to share with our audience
  • Assist in growing our follower base through tagging, commenting, and exploring outreach tactics
  • Help build a basic content calendar and plan around our milestones
  • Brainstorm with the team on new creative approaches, especially for student-focused content
  • Stay up to date on relevant trends in career development, internships, and Gen Z social media

Who You Are

  • A college student (any major) with a strong interest in social media, branding, or digital storytelling
  • An excellent writer — your tone is clear, engaging, and you know how to adapt it to the platform
  • Familiar with Instagram, TikTok, and/or LinkedIn — not just as a user, but as a thinker
  • Curious about startups and how brands grow online
  • Organized, creative, and comfortable working independently
  • Someone who takes initiative — you don’t wait to be told what to post
  • Bonus: Experience with Canva, scheduling tools (Buffer, Later, etc.), or light video editing

What You’ll Gain

  • Real ownership over a startup’s social media presence
  • Firsthand experience building brand awareness and voice
  • A portfolio of posts, graphics, and campaigns you can show future employers
  • Mentorship from a fast-moving, impact-driven team
  • Insight into how startups build their marketing and community strategy
  • A great resume bullet and LinkedIn reference
  • Potential to grow with us — we love hiring from within

Ready to make content that actually matters — and helps thousands of students land real opportunities? We’d love to hear from you.
