Special Education Monitoring Specialist

Position: Special Education Monitoring Specialist 

Location: Washington Court House City Schools- all buildings

General Description:

The Special Education Monitoring Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations regarding Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This role involves reviewing and monitoring IEPs to verify adherence to legal requirements and identifying areas of non-compliance. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of special education law, IEP development, and monitoring processes. Strong leadership skills are essential to support educators and administrators in maintaining compliant and effective special education programs.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.

Minimum of five years of experience in special education, with at least two years in a leadership, administrative, or compliance role.

Extensive knowledge of federal and state special education laws, policies, and procedures.

Experience in special education program monitoring, evaluation, and compliance.

Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and apply legal and policy frameworks.

Excellent communication, training, and presentation skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including educators, administrators, parents, and policymakers.

Demonstrated leadership experience in supervising or guiding special education teams.

Must pass a criminal background check.

Current driver’s license and reliable transportation.
 

Job Description: Special Education Monitoring Specialist

Minimum Requirements:

Hours: Up to 16 hours per week
