New Heart Thrift Store - Assistant Manager
New Heart Thrift Store is seeking to fill the full-time position of Assistant Manager.
Position Description
The New Heart Thrift Store Assistant Manager will work 32 hours per week and be responsible for helping manage the store’s operations and the volunteers who work there under the direction of the New Heart Thrift Store Manager.
Specific duties will include:
- Serving customers;
- Receiving and processing donated goods;
- Ensuring the property is clean and well cared for inside and out;
- Market the Thrift Store through online and social media platforms;
- Recruit, schedule, manage and appreciate volunteers;
- Post and process E-bay merchandise sales;
- Assist with budget and bill payments;
- Minister to volunteers and customers as appropriate;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong Christian spiritual maturity
- A servant-leadership attitude
- Some experience with sales and/or marketing preferred
- Excellent organizational and planning skills, including attention to detail and the ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal skills that demonstrate care and confidence to all constituents
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic proficiency with computer-based applications (Excel, Word, online, etc.)
- A resourceful and collaborative nature that can manage and work well with multiple constituencies and strong attention to detail, with an organized work style and an achieving mindset
- A sincere interest in furthering the NHTS and CoA mission and Belief Statements

Compensation
This is a salaried position. The Assistant Manager will be entitled to:
- Free College of Athens tuition for self and/or family member(s);
- Paid vacation days plus holidays when the store is closed.
- Other optional benefits after 6 months employment such as participation in the College’s IRA retirement plan, health benefits, and AFLAC benefits.
