Music & Arts Teacher

Position: Music & Arts Teacher (Grades K–12)  Location: Troy Campus + Burton Campus | Agape Christian Academy Status: Full-Time | 2025–2026 Academic Year

Objective

Agape Christian Academy is seeking a creative, mission-minded educator to serve as our Music & Arts Teacher. This full-time role includes teaching general music and visual arts for Grades 5–12, while also providing weekly music instruction for students in Grades K–4 at our Burton Campus. The ideal candidate will help build a dynamic music program that glorifies God and fosters joyful artistic expression across all ages.

Reports to: Campus Principal

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum

  • Teach general music, choir, drama, and foundational visual arts classes for Grades 5–12, aligned with Agape’s Christ-centered curriculum
  • Provide weekly music instruction at the K–4 Burton Campus, introducing young students to rhythm, melody, musical movement, and worship through song
  • Integrate biblical truth into all areas of music and art instruction
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of a wide age and skill range of learners
  • Develop long-term planning for music and arts programming, including curriculum goals and student benchmarks

Program Development & School Engagement

  • Build and lead student ensembles, such as chapel bands, choirs, and instrumental groups
  • Organize and direct performances for both campuses (e.g., Christmas Program, chapel worship, Fine Arts Night)
  • Support school-wide events including Back-to-School Night, chapels, and community presentations
  • Collaborate with faculty and leadership on creative integration across disciplines and grade levels

Classroom Culture & Discipleship

  • Cultivate an orderly, joyful environment where students learn to reflect God’s beauty through creative worship
  • Disciple students through mentoring, encouragement, and daily prayer
  • Communicate with families about student progress, performance opportunities, and spiritual growth through the arts

Qualifications & Ideal Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications

  • A growing, active relationship with Jesus Christ and membership in a Bible-believing local church
  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Fine Arts, or a related field
  • Experience working with both younger and older students in music instruction
  • Ability to lead worship vocally and/or instrumentally
  • Organizational skills and initiative to build a sustainable music and arts program across campuses

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Christian school or church-based music ministry
  • Proficiency in multiple instruments and/or choral direction
  • Comfort integrating Scripture and theology into music and art lessons
  • Familiarity with K–12 fine arts curriculum development and biblical integration
