Tooling/ Program Manager

This position requires experience in maintaining/ cutting tools like blades, drills, and milling cutters by using grinding machines, ensuring they are precisely shaped and ready for use.

Work with the tooling companies to help find solutions and then run the tests to prove them out.

Job Summary:

This position is the primary customer contact for our client located in Ladson, SC. The Tooling manager is responsible for all key metrics that include but are not limited to:

• Cost savings, profitability, customer satisfaction and team leadership. Providing the right tool at the right price and the right time. Efficiently and Accurately performing all tasks related to exceeding our customer's requirements.
• Key Attributes: Driven, self-starter with a strong desire to learn and grow with the business. Must be able to represent the company professionally at all times. Ability to interface with customer at multiple levels.
• Significant portion of the job will be tool engineering, however, must also be able to effectively communicate with management to report out on achievements or corrective actions. Relationship building is an expectation.

Responsibilities:

*Coordinate projects and communicate findings in support of a multifunctional team*

o Develop, test, and implement tool improvements to yield cost savings for end user

o Work closely with customer engineering department to support tooling alterations related to process or part changes

o Review all premature tooling (items not achieving targeted life) and perform root cause analysis

o Drive scrap reduction and improve machining up-time for customer

o Host customer meetings in support of shared goals

o Work with Manufacturers on Tooling improvement and problem resolution

Utilize and continually improve electronic documentation such as:

o Premature tool logs

o Tool testing proposals (open project summary, cost savings database entries)

o Tooling prints (verification of required detail and design relative to intent)

o Plan for Every Part (PFEP)

o Scrap logs

Support the following PSMI/Customer Metrics

o A/R Days Outstanding

o Inventory Turns

o Open Orders

o Profitability

o Delivery

o Employee Action Decks

o Cutter replenishment process

o Vending replenishment process

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
