Marketing and Outreach Intern

Life Services Alternatives, Inc. (LSA) is a California non-profit Corporation serving Individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Our mission is to provide personalized, dignified, and lifelong living experiences. LSA currently serves Individuals living in residential homes under license from the Department of Social Services. LSA operates in Santa Clara County, CA.


POSITION: Marketing and Outreach Intern
WORKING HOURS: Up to 28 hours per week
REPORTS TO: VP, Marketing & Development
FSLA STATUS: ` Hourly/Non-Exempt, Per Diem
PAYSCALE: $18.00 per hour to $21.00 per hour


JOB SUMMARY:
The Marketing and Outreach Intern provides support to the marketing team by completing tasks associated with
fundamental marketing practices. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping others and wants to use
their communication and creative skills to make a difference in the community.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in planning and executing events and webinars that inform, inspire, and connect
- Coordinate external and internal communications and meetings
- Assist with management across all social media platforms, including engaging with followers, maintaining a posting schedule, writing and curating thoughtful, mission-aligned posts, etc.
- Assist with writing and proofreading for blogs, email blasts, newsletters, social media content, etc.
- Assistance on special projects, including brainstorming and creative ideation
- Assistance with data entry and database maintenance using tools such as HubSpot
- Other assignments as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current college student or recent graduate preferred
- Passion for helping others and using marketing to support community impact
- Strong analytical thinking and logical reasoning to support informed decision-making
- Initiative and self-motivation, with a proactive approach to solving problems
- Ability to assess and anticipate team needs to support effective collaboration and communication.
- Time management and follow-up skills with ability to plan, organize, and prioritize a workload and handle several
tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines
- Ability to prioritize attention to detail and communicate cross-functionally across teams and departments
- The ability to observe, ask questions, listen actively and give and accept feedback effectively
- Excellent written and communications skills
- A high energy level, adaptability, patience and ability to work in a team environment
- Proficient in social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Linkedin
- Competence in Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar and familiarity with HubSpot (or willingness to learn)
- Be legally authorized to work in the U.S. with current documentation


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
 - This position is a mandated reporter, and is required to observe all Individuals’ rights, report unusual occurrences as specified in Title 22, California Code of Regulations
- Must hold a valid California driver’s license, auto insurance and a good driving record, and must require and
undergo fingerprint and criminal record check, and provide results of health screening and TB testing
- Must have proof of COVID-19 vaccination


WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
This paid position is a hybrid position (in-person and virtual). You will need to be able to come into the LSA office in Campbell, CA. You must have access to reliable internet connection.
Risk/Safety Conditions: Will have on-going interaction with Individuals. Potential exposure of communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to this work environment. May require some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids. Essential physical activities: To include walking, sitting, hearing, and seeing up close, talking, standing, finger movement, repetitive motions. Is required to lift a maximum of 25 lbs. and will ask for assistance as needed lifting over 25 lbs. Maintains sufficient strength, agility, endurance and sensory ability to perform the duties contained in this job description.
