One position will be filled from this applicant pool as a Budget Specialist or Budget Analyst based on the applicant’s qualifications.
Job Summary: This is professional work involving the application of a variety of budget, accounting, financial management techniques, and analysis.
Job duties include:
- Serves as the budget liaison to assigned organizational units to assist with budget implementation; prepares budget transfers and budget amendments; verifies account number and funding for procurement actions; verifies procurements actions are in accordance with plans / matches justification forms and alerts Budget Director of deviations prior to processing.
- Serves as the budget liaison to assigned organizational units to assist with developing Preliminary; Tentative Strategic, and Final Budgets within deadlines; enters data into the Budget Planning Tool; prepares FTE allocations; and compiles historical and current information and generates reports.
- Researches, develops and maintains various reporting systems, methodologies and processes; recommends most appropriate and implements as directed and presents information in a timely, informative and accurate manner; assists with monthly analysis of budget to actual expenditures, prepares reports and identifies any potential issues and works with staff to resolve.
- Provides professional customer service to internal and external customers; develops and maintains working relationships with District employees.
Skilled In:
The use of a variety of computer software programs; financial and economic analyses; oral and written communications; and problem resolution; financial management and planning; team building and coordination; conflict resolution with both internal staff and senior management along with external organizations and the public; and priority setting.
Minimum Qualifications:
Budget Specialist requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, accounting, finance, or management.
Budget Analyst requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, accounting, finance, or management and two years of professional experience.
Professional budget, finance, or accounting experience can substitute on a year-to-year basis for the
required college education.

Starting Salary Range:
Budget Specialist - $49,067.20 - $61,339.20
Budget Analyst - $56,180.80 - $70,220.80
Starting salary is based on qualifications and experience.
