Jr. Copywriter
The junior copywriter position is open to someone who is starting to develop their talent for strategic marketing and advertising campaigns. This professional is responsible for working directly with senior writers to generate themes, concepts, stand-alone copy or text that complements visual concepts across many platforms, including digital, social, print and direct mail.
The role will involve using feedback from colleagues and clients to sharpen writing skills and create finished pieces that attract and persuade consumers. Across all projects, junior copywriters work closely with senior writing professionals to come up with original concepts and gain confidence in their decision-making and copy capabilities.
All copy created by a junior copywriter needs to be interesting for the reader, whilst adhering to the objectives of the project, staying within the brief and adhering to the rules of grammar.
Responsibilities:
- Mastering the creative processes of Moosylvania, and establishing connections with fellow creatives and account service professionals to help streamline communications and foster a productive work environment
- Understanding the message the client is seeking to deliver and translating this into attractive copy that aligns with the client brand
- Developing creative concepts and writing copy under the supervision of a senior writer
- Receiving and applying feedback, and using it to grow as a copywriter
- Collaborating with account service and design professionals to devise creative strategies
- Keeping copy consistent and identifiable for each client brand
- Demonstrating knowledge of current trends and consumer behaviors
- Consistently meeting assignment objectives and deadlines
- Participating in brainstorms with thoughtful contributions that move your brand(s) forward
Qualifications:
- A strong portfolio with a range of writing samples
- A Bachelor’s degree in communications, creative writing or journalism (or similar discipline) and/or relevant work experience
- Experience with Google Workspace, including Gmail, Calendar, Meet, Chat, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.
- A flexible approach and willingness to adapt ideas to the needs of clients
- The ability to meet deadlines and work in a pressurized environment
- Ability to absorb and apply constructive feedback
- An eye for detail and strong research skills that ensure all copy is accurate and error-free
- A passion for writing and the willingness to learn from other creative professionals
