Operations Intern

Job Title: Operations Intern (Part-Time)
Location: Marietta, GA (Hybrid/On-site)
Hours: Minimum 20 hours per week
Compensation: Paid Internship (Hourly Rate Based on Experience) or Credit Hours (if approved)

We are a growing civil engineering firm based in Marietta, GA, dedicated to delivering innovative infrastructure solutions with a focus on quality, efficiency, and community impact. As we expand, we’re looking for a tech-savvy, detail-oriented Operations Intern to support our HR and operational functions.

Position Overview

This internship is ideal for a college student or recent graduate interested in gaining hands-on experience in business operations and human resources within a professional engineering environment. You’ll work directly with the VP of Operations and gain exposure to the inner workings of a dynamic small business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes for employees and contractors
  • Support recruitment efforts, including posting job ads, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews
  • Help maintain and organize digital HR files and employee records
  • Assist in tracking and reporting on key operational metrics (e.g., project timelines, resource allocation)
  • Support the implementation and optimization of internal systems and software tools (e.g., project management, time tracking, HRIS)
  • Coordinate internal communications and assist with scheduling meetings and events
  • Conduct research and provide recommendations on HR and operational best practices
  • Help document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workflow improvements

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Operations Management, or a related field
  • Strong interest in HR and business operations
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace; familiarity with tools like Trello, Asana, or Airtable is a plus
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail and a proactive attitude
