WKOW, TV, the ABC affiliate in beautiful Madison, Wisconsin has a rare opening for a Sports Director to anchor our weeknight sportscasts and direct our local sports coverage.
We are looking for someone who lives and breathes sports of all kinds; someone who goes beyond the highlights and brings the emotional stories that come with high level competition.
Living and working in Wisconsin and B1G country, you will cover everything from prep to the pros: the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks and Brewers, everything Wisconsin Badgers and our home-grown athletes at the high school level.
Our Sports Director works with a team across several markets in Wisconsin to coordinate coverage. They shoot, write, edit and produce on a daily basis. We’re looking for someone who not only has a strong on-air presence but who does their best work on the field: spending time at practices and games, getting interviews with coaches and athletes and creatively telling their stories.
This position requires the ability to carry up to 50 pounds, a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
