
School Aged Child Care Site Coordinator

The YMCA is seeking an engaging, enthusiastic, and nurturing group leader to join our team. This position plays a key role in providing a safe and enriching environment for school aged children to learn, grow, and explore. As a group leader, aiding in the overall operation of high-quality early learning, responsibilities will include promoting YMCA core values and encourage lifelong learning. The SACC Site Coordinator is responsible for the planning and overall operation of a high quality Afterschool program, including overseeing one before and/or after school site and providing leadership for additional sites as determined by Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning, organizing, and implementing activities (e.g., games, arts and crafts, storytelling) and overall engagement with the children.
Ensure the safety and well-being of the students and maintain a clean and developmentally appropriate environment.
Foster positive relationships with children and their families through effective communication and collaboration.
Demonstrate positive energy and enthusiasm in providing and growing in leadership, motivating team members and fostering a collaborative, high-performing work environment.
Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development by encouraging positive relationships and participation in developmentally appropriate activities.
Responsible for maintaining compliance in all related areas including the Department of Early Education & Care (EEC) licensing procedures and promoting YUSA Healthy Eating Physical Activity (HEPA) standards.
Assists in providing reasonable accommodations to allow children with disabilities to participate in activities.
Supervision and leadership to program staff and participants and maintaining the organization's policies, EEC regulations, applicable laws, and QRIS Standards.

Qualifications:
Must meet EEC requirements: Minimum of one year experience working with school age children (with HS Diploma) OR Minimum of nine months experience working with school age children (w/Associates) OR Minimum of six months experience working with school age children (w/BA).
Must be 20 years of age.
Knowledge and experience with EEC regulations and QRIS is preferred.
The ability to develop positive, effective working relationships with, staff, children & families, volunteers, school administrators are critical to this position.
Effective teaching skills, the ability to implement methods to address and follow up with family needs/concerns in a positive and professional way reflecting an attitude that values diversity.
Must meet EEC Educator PD requirements; PQ Registry to reflect all trainings. CPR and 1st Aid required and provided by the Y, Child Protection & Reporting and Employee Safety on line trainings upon hire.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to: climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, stand for an extended period of time, walk, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear and have visual acuity. Activities that may be required as part of the job are climbing, running, swimming and other outdoor activities.
