What Makes the CAS Internship Exciting?

As a CAS Intern, you will gain real-world experience working with a dynamic team of professionals and build your accounting skills as you assist clients with their financial needs. Your internship will include activities such as:

  • Collaborating with Clients: Build confidence as you work directly with clients, preparing month-end financial reconciliations, statements, forecasts, budgets, and more.
  • Learning Accounting Software Skills: Dive into tools like QuickBooks and Sage Intacct while gaining expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and more.
  • Creating Impact: Support clients in improving their bookkeeping processes, developing best practices, and ensuring their financial health.
  • Exposure to Multiple Industries: You'll work with a variety of business sectors, giving you versatile knowledge to apply to your future career.

This internship provides flexibility to work in Roseville office and potentially at client locations within the twin cities metro area to support our CAS clients. You'll report directly to CAS leadership and staff in charge of the client relationship, ensuring mentorship and guidance along the way.

Your Contributions as a CAS Intern May Include:

  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Assisting with payroll tasks, including tax filings, payments, and audits while learning about compliance standards.
  • Supporting clients through accounting education, software training, and problem-solving.
  • Collaborating with the team to produce documentation, meet deadlines, and maintain professional standards.
  • Gaining exposure to basic tax forms and assisting in information gathering for tax preparation.

What We're Looking For in a CAS Intern:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics with at least four completed accounting courses.
  • Strong academic record, GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP principles and bookkeeping practices.
  • Excellent organization, time-management, and critical thinking skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities with a client-focused approach.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable to overtime during busy periods.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team while managing independent tasks.
  • Authorized to work in the United States and willing to travel locally within the Twin Cities metro area.
