POSITION PURPOSE
Typically involves adherence to of first-line exempt supervisors, and through them, group leaders and production workers in more than one department, on more than one shift, and usually in one plant area. Typical departments and functions supervised might include a combination of two or more of the following: assembly, processing, packaging, and inspection. This job is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. May be responsible for locating or promoting possible new sources of supply. Is expected to keep abreast of market trends, changes in business practices in the assigned markets, new or altered types of materials entering the market, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITES

- Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations.
- Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for packaging and distribution of products.
- Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. Inspects vehicle equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water etc.
- Ability to use Inventory Management Software (INXSQL), Microsoft Suite programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) with excellent proficiency.
- Coordinates all activities related to procurement of a commodity beginning with intent to purchase through delivery.
- Investigates potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements.
- Negotiates the lowest possible cost for the commodity balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.
- Implements purchase contracts that comply with company and government regulations.
- Plans layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
- Studies records and recommends remedial actions for reported non usable, slow moving, and excess stock.
- Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels.
- Creates purchase orders when stock levels run low.
- Analyzes macro economic data regarding tariff pricing, various duties, logistics costs.
- Schedules work for special and periodic inventories.
- Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
- Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
- Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
- Marks materials with identifying information using labeling machine provided by Inventory Management System.
- Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
- Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Weighs or counts items for distribution within the warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Uses computer to enter records via Inventory Management System (INxSQL).
- Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse and picks up items from several locations for shipment.
- Prepares parcels for UPS mailing.
- Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
- Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
- Inserts items into containers.
- Stamps, stencils or prints identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
- Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
- Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transports load to designated area.
- Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
- Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
- Loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device.
- Lubricates truck, recharges batteries, fills fuel tank, or replaces liquefied gas tank.
- Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse and picks up items from several locations for shipment.
- Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.
- Maintains vehicle log, according to state and federal regulations.
- Effectively communicates by email, phone or in person and receives orders for buys, releases, discontinuance, or change in product or service.
- Reads customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Ability to receive and processes orders. Prepares/processes direct shipments when needed.
- Collects payment information for COD customers.
- Requests Material Test Reports for needed items either to Quality Representative at Centennial Bolt or directly to vendor. Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.
- Solicits sale of new or additional services.
DUTIES AND TASKS
Assists with developing budget and goals. Is the primary supplier of feedback to third level management.
SUPERVISION GIVEN AND RECEIVED
Works within multiple work groups or units in several different areas or a large functional unit. Receives information in the form of objectives and sets goals to meet objectives. Work is reviewed based on meeting objectives.

Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
Proficient ability to use Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and navigate Inventory Management software system.
Education:
High school education; Currently within College graduate program.
