FSQA Intern
Position Overview: The FSQA Intern will assist the Quality Assurance Supervisor and Manager in ensuring compliance with all Manufacturing Quality and Food Safety Policies and Guidelines. They will play a key role in our company’s commitment to the production of the highest quality safe foods. The FSQA Intern must be able to interact across interdepartmental boundaries in a professional, proactive manner, avoid conflicts, and exemplify a collaborative spirit. The FSQA Intern will learn and spend time in various FSQA roles, in a production environment, in addition to completing specific projects for management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the FSQA Managers and Supervisors with HACCP validations, data analysis, and projects as needed.
- Monitor existing product SKUs and directly recommend/lead development improvements with R&D.
- Monitor the quality of incoming raw materials and finished products, including organoleptic evaluations.
- Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Complete Pre-operational Inspections each morning and evening, including swabs weekly
- Monitor the general upkeep of the production area.
- Monitor verifications for CCPs on the floor
- Perform Specification Testing on certain incoming raw materials as needed
- Monitor daily Label Checks, HACCP, Operational, weekly thermometer checks, weekly temp tags, and Calibration requirements.
- Monitor and verify the proper function of metal detectors daily
- Perform training as assigned by the QA Manager for employees.
- Perform the daily organoleptic testing of products being run that day and send out a report.
- Generally, assist in ensuring safety compliance and compliance with all other Company Rules and Policies by way of example, and by encouraging and monitoring the behavior of others.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience Required: Minimum 6 months of quality or related experience or education preferred.
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Support management decisions, talk positively, and encourage a happy environment.
- Be knowledgeable of and follow the safety procedures as outlined by Monogram Foods.
- Be knowledgeable of safe food handling practices, HACCP, and quality control procedures in your department.
- You must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
- Serve Safe Certified
- Demonstrate a high level of energy, drive, and initiative.
- The ability to be self-directed and maintain excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and accept additional responsibilities as needed.
Competencies and Skills:
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual a plus- English/Spanish
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to work within temperature-controlled environments (Heat/Cold)
- Walk on slippery, wet surfaces
- Frequently transports/pushes/pulls/moves up 50 lbs. or more.
- Walk/stand 100% of shift.
- This role will require extended hours based on production needs, including work to be performed after regular business hours and on weekends
