Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file U.S. trademark documents with the USPTO, including applications, responses to office actions, and maintenance filings
- Conduct trademark screening searches on third-party platforms and perform common law searches
- Manage routine client communications related to trademark prosecution and maintenance
- Assist with Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) filings and prepare WIPO trademark documents
- Coordinate with foreign counsel on international trademark applications and maintenance
- Conduct due diligence for trademark portfolios and file customs registrations with U.S. Customs and Border Protection
- Support trademark enforcement matters, including coordinating with foreign counsel on oppositions and disputes
- Monitor attorney dockets to ensure timely management of deadlines
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 4–10 years of experience in a trademark department, with a strong focus on trademark prosecution
- Exceptional writing, editing, research, organizational, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, document management software, and timekeeping software
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and work overtime or weekends as needed
- Professional demeanor with meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills
- Willingness to provide direction and training to junior team members
- Excellent client service skills
Preferred:
- Experience with copyright registration
- Prior experience in a large or nationally recognized law firm
- Familiarity with TTAB proceedings or international trademark filings
Salary & Benefits
- Base Salary: $90,000 – $110,000
- Bonus: Performance-based annual bonus eligibility
- Work Setup: Hybrid (combination of in-office and remote work)
