Starting Salary: $18.89$21.62 (depending on experience)

About this Position

The Deputy Court Clerk II (Warrants/Suspensions) provides essential operational support in the diversified, complex, and multifaceted functions of the Court Services' divisions of Criminal, Traffic, and Code/Environmental Courts. Work can be of a highly confidential nature and involves the skilled use of a computer.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2 years of related experience and/or training
    • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve, sort, and process failure-to-appear warrants for the Judge’s signature
  • Complete file maintenance of warrants and process failure-to-appear driver's license suspensions
  • Investigate, locate, and serve individuals named in summonses and warrants
  • Perform moderately complex correspondence with defendants
  • Utilize a variety of resources to find individuals with outstanding warrants
  • Update, modify, and record pertinent information regarding warrants
  • Assist customers via phone and email, including rescheduling or processing payments
  • Enter data into the court management system
  • Receive and process failure-to-comply suspensions
  • Provide monthly statistical reports of activity, issued and served warrants, etc., to the Court Administrator
  • Complete the Certification Program for the Oklahoma Municipal Court Clerks Association (OMCCA) within 3 years
  • Learn and maintain extensive working knowledge of the Court's operations

Necessary Skills

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong multitasking abilities to work in an environment with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
  • Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug and audio screenings
