The Copper Country Intermediate School District is hiring a Special Education Teacher Coach in Hancock, Michigan.
In this impactful role, you’ll work hand-in-hand with our dedicated special education teams across a variety of classroom settings—including self-contained and inclusive environments. You’ll provide coaching, modeling, and training to help educators create structured, supportive, and engaging learning environments for all students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavior support, instructional coaching, and special education compliance.

WHAT WE OFFER.
- $46,800 – $77,800 annual starting salary based on education and experience.

- No health insurance needed? We’ll pay you $643.19/month instead (yes, even during the summer break).

- Full-time school-year position with a start date in the Fall of 2025. Summers off.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING.
- Support the implementation of the Competent Learner Model (CLM)—training provided.
- Collaborate with teachers to build effective Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) systems.
- Use your extensive experience in self-contained classroom settings to guide and mentor staff in similar classroom environments.
- Coach teams on data-driven instruction, behavioral strategies, and differentiated teaching.
- Assist with planning and delivering lessons using Unique Learning Systems (ULS).
- Guide the development and monitoring of IEPs, ensuring compliance and quality.
- Help teams utilize PowerSchool, align curriculum with Essential Elements, and support MI-Access (Michigan’s alternate state assessment) administration.
- Collaborate with general education staff to promote inclusion and student success in the least restrictive environment.
- Lead and support professional development efforts alongside administration.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification required.
- At least 3 years of experience teaching special education in both self-contained and inclusive settings.
- A strong foundation in behavior intervention planning and positive supports.
- Familiarity with (or interest in learning) tools like CLM, ULS, PowerSchool, and MI-Access.
- A coaching mindset: you love supporting adult learners and solving challenges as a team.
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- A calm, confident approach that embodies clear communication skills.
- Professionalism that inspires, teaches, and motivates staff.
