I love the fact that I have the opportunity to learn about medications, patients, and the different laws surrounding the pharmacy and medicine.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have been trained more thoroughly. It seems this position has a pretty steep learning curve and it took me about 6 months to get everything down. Honestly, I'm still actively learning with each day I work, but I wish I could've been taught the basics through hands on experience with another person rather than me figuring things out for myself.
Advice
Try to find someone who can actively help in your training, and always ask questions!

What I liked
I met a variety of people and I enjoy helping others. I also experienced managerial duties and got to be more invovled with the company, which has helped me prepare for my future career in marketing after graduation.
What I wish was different
I was always moving from store to store around Ozaukee County, but it gave me a wider range of experience through different customer segments and layout designs based off of geographical location. I wish I could have been consistent with a store and been able to grow through the managment experience by being payed for the work I was putting in.
Advice
Everyday is a new opportunity to wake up and go and learn something new, whether it's through scrolling through and article or whether it's through meeting someone new. Overall, go into everyday as an awesome opportunity to grow.

May - August 2018 • Chicago, IL
What I liked
Interacting and working together with my co-workers. Also the occasional drama and scenes caused by unruly and rude customers whose ego is larger than the sun.
What I wish was different
I wish I been paid more for the things I have to deal with. Short-change scam artists, thieves, and rude customers. I also wish I was able to gain an internship and do something that relevant with my major.
Advice
Don't wait till the end of the spring semester to start applying to jobs. Apply early since that when you will have the most opportunities. Also go to career fair even if you are freshman or sophomore so you can get your name out there. Companies keep track of this stuff and they may contact you once you enter your junior/senior year.

Coumunity Management Intern
June - August 2018 • Anaheim, CA
What I liked
I was able to see a change in culture at Walgreens. The company was working on upscaling its team members by giving them more responsibilities. Team members were held accountable for certain measures throughout the store. This helped drive pride for not only the store but the company as well. Even though the duration of my internship lasted 10 weeks, it was amazing to see the growth of each team member and the company as a whole.

Supply Chain Intern
June - August 2018 • Waxahachie, TX
What I liked
I liked the organizational design with the program over the course of 10 weeks. We used DMAIC project format to meet deliverables that were assigned by the senior level management on-site. It was more of a mental gaant design in our heads, but each phase was divided. We were expected to complete each phases deliverables while focusing on our end goal deliverables every other week.
What I wish was different
I wish that I had a designated mentor that was with me throughout the entire internship to show me different types of duties that he/she had, but instead myself and two other interns were basically thrown to the wolves.
Advice
I would say that going into an internship do not hesitate to ask questions no matter how dumb you may think it may make you feel.

The people I am working with and the support system that exists amongst the employees.
What I wish was different
The Walgreens in understaffed for the patient volume, and they have some policies that slow down the workflow making it inefficient and inconvenient for employees.
Advice
It is a good job overall and it gives good experience working in customer service, especially since some customers are rather hostile and really test your ability to remain calm and helpful.
