I was able to build superb sales and communication skills while in school. The networking opportunity is outstanding, I have had many job offers from doing presentations for other sales people. I was able to be a leader for a small team of sales people.
What I wish was different
I worked all the time, nonstop. I wish that was different but I was making great money working more than full time.
Advice
If you’re at all interested in business or sales, I highly recommend becoming a sales representative. You will learn an immense amount about how to interact with people and the right way to become a sales person. It can also leverage you into many other great positions you would have never expected.

branch manager
May - September 2019 • Lewisburg, PA
What I liked
I loved the ability to help individuals, especially those who are just out of high school and need t learn necessary time management skills for college. I loved being able to help students see their potential in life if they just put a little bit of effort and passion into what they were doing.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have recruited more people. That was on me and lack of preparation, though, not with the company itself
Advice
Stop listening to the weird reviews about the job. This is the best experience of my life; I would not trade it for the world. Give selling knives a shot.

Sales Representative
May 2018 • Burlington, NC
What I liked
I have been working as a Cutco sales representative for two summer now. I liked this internship because it increased my communication skills tremendously! You also can work from home and make your own hours. The pay is great because there’s a base pay and a commission salary. It’s a great work environment because it targets mainly high school and college students to become interns.
What I wish was different
I do wish the pay was more consistent. The commissions are great, but if you don’t sell anything you have to rely on base pay.
Advice
I would honestly advise any senior in high school or college student to try it for one summer. You learn a variety of life skills and it’s super fun as long as you put into it what you want to get out of it.

What I wish was different
I wish I would have had more time to see what could have developed long term.
Advice
Never give up. Sales is hard, but it is also super rewarding.
