What I liked
Good experience. I'm not planning on going into the health field but I learned a lot about different supplies and what they are used for.
What I wish was different
Department is small so the scheduling is not as flexible as I would like.
Advice
Take notes, a lot of the supplies are similar with minor differences.

Advice
Take advantage of Internships. If you treat and internship like an internship you'll get looked over as just another intern. But if you show your worth and treat it like it's your job/first priority they won't want to loose you.

Nurse Intern
June - August 2017 • La Crosse, WI
What I liked
Gundersen Health System is a wonderful employer. They take care of their own. Offering full support to employees, even if they are temporary nurse interns. It impressed me the level of acceptance I felt immediately in orientation.
What I wish was different
Honestly, not much. I was very well accommodated.
Advice
Dive in as quickly as possible. Volunteer and ask questions, I never found a nurse that refused to teach when asked!
