We have the best bosses, the best co-workers, and such a wonderful time as interns for the Advancement Center! The purpose of our job is to foster deeper connections with Concordia's alumni and inspire a feeling of community and higher rates of gift-giving. We get to choose our own schedule and hours based on our class workload. This is by far the best job I've ever had.
What I wish was different
Virtually nothing! Sometimes the list of projects can get long, but it keeps us on our toes and the bosses are completely willing to help make it less overwhelming!
Advice
If you're excited to speak to alumni and get to know them, this is the job for you! If you have phone anxiety, don't push this job aside, because it's a valuable and meaningful to face your fears and learn communication skills.

FYT Mentor
August 2021 • Moorhead, MN
What I liked
I loved being able to work with my OL at the beginning of the year and getting to know the first year class well and give them advice that I was grateful to receive and more as a freshman.
What I wish was different
I think that some FYT labs were more valuable information than others so maybe more time spent on those topics such as registration and such.
