CohnReznick LLP

Audit Intern

January - April 2024 • Powder Springs, GA

What I liked

Great overall Experience, Enjoyed the experience from beginning to the end of the internship. Great organization made it go smoothly. Weekly seminars helped a lot not only was advice given on how to operate works days but how to manage life outside of working hours, something I believe that was really valuable throughout the experience.

What I wish was different

Honestly I don’t have anything to say here, I would like to say more good things but I’ll try to keep it short as possible.

Advice

Ask questions not only work wise but career wise and general life wise. I feel these are the best people to ask career questions as well as what you can expect life to be like when coming in as a staff as they have more experience.

Audit Intern

January - April 2024 • Atlanta, GA

What I liked

I had one of the best times during my intership with CohnReznick. The atmosphere and environment is incredibly welcoming, and the people I was working with were so accepting to me and the other interns that lacked experience in the big bad auditing world. I quickly fell in love with the work, and I am very eager to continue my career with this company

Summer Audit Intern

June - August 2022 • Braintree, MA

What I liked

I felt valued as an Intern. Any questions I asked were not seen as a burden to the current associates, managers, etc. They took the time to personally get to know me and walk me through the beginning stages of my career.

What I wish was different

More-in person interaction. This was not the fault of the company but the age we are living in post covid.

Advice

Ask ALL the questions. They honestly do expect anything from you as an intern except for the hunger to learn. Take advantage of that!

Cybersecurity & Technology Risk Advisory Intern

June - August 2019 • New York City, NY

What I liked

CohnReznick provided me with thorough experiences, allowing me to understand and learn the responsibilities of a consultant. I was given the opportunity to travel with a Senior Consultant to a client and learn how IT Audits are performed and how to effectively communicate with clients. Additionally, they really helped with networking opportunities within the firm, assigning each intern a "buddy" and a "coach" whom served as mentors throughout the internship.

What I wish was different

I wish that in the beginning of my internship that I was given more relevant work. It took a couple of weeks to get fully involved in projects, but once I did the experience was great.

Advice

I would suggest to never be afraid to ask questions. No one expects you to know everything and by asking questions you can learn how to perform your best while also making a stronger relationship with the person managing the project you are working on.

Accounting Intern

June - August 2019 • Roseland, NJ

What I liked

This company clearly expressed and acted on their company values. Everyone was so friendly and willing to teach the interns about things we were unsure about.

What I wish was different

I wish it could have lasted longer! It was a two month internship, I would have liked it to be the entire summer.

Advice

When working with experienced people, ask them questions even if you feel it's silly, and ask them for feedback on your work! It seriously paid off in the end.

Audit Intern

June - August 2019 • Eatontown, NJ

What I liked

It was a great hands-on experience. They were very adamant about making sure the interns got a well rounded experience and scheduled us on different clients throughout the two months. We were able to participate in many different types of testing, specifically within EBP audits since I interned in the summer. I got to work with several people throughout the office who were extremely helpful and understanding. The culture at CohnReznick was incredibly welcoming and I never felt like I couldn't turn to anyone for help. They truly want to see you succeed and will help you in any way they can.

What I wish was different

I wish I got more experience with financial statement auditing, but that was just a matter of timing with the internship. I also wish I was more prepared or alerted to the amount of traveling I had to do. Again, it was because they wanted to help expose us to as many different clients as possible, but sometimes the schedule was a bit hectic.

Advice

It's important that you ask people for help and communicate with the people you're working with. I thought asking for help would annoy people or distract them from their work, but it's a bigger reflection on how much you care about the work you're doing.

Tax Intern

June - August 2019 • Baltimore, MD

What I liked

the Location was great. Being in the harbor I had great views and a plethora of food choices. The people were great, very helpful and welcoming. Finally, the pay was amazing. Being paid as much as they offered really motivated me to come in everyday.

What I wish was different

I wish that they offered more hours. Over the summer I wanted to work full time but only 30 hours a week was offered Monday-Thursday.

Advice

Go into the job knowing that you know nothing. Everything you will need to know you will learn on the job. If you are confused ask questions and ask them often.
